Scratch Basics: Introduction to Block-Based Coding

DESCRIPTION: This course develops the student’s fundamental coding skills using Scratch, a visual programming platform by the MIT Media Lab. In this class, students will use block-based programming to learn basic STEM concepts as they create their own stories, animations, mini-games, and more.

JavaScript: Dynamic Web Development

DESCRIPTION: This course introduces students to the principles of visual and animated elements of websites
through the application of JavaScript. In this class, students will learn the core skills needed to create their very own websites that follow the standard design projects, such as font pairing, color combinations, image selection, layout, composition, and more.

INSTRUCTOR: Teacher Kia

Being a programmer for years, it has been Teacher Kia’s passion to promote coding education among the youth to help bridge the gap between what is being taught in schools and what is relevant in today’s highly digital world. With her commitment to continually improve on her craft, she has completed a Masters Programme in Artificial Intelligence Engineering and an International Baccalaureate Computer Science Diploma Programme. Currently, she’s on track to be certified by the International Society of Technology in Education (ISTE) and is more than excited to share her knowledge, skills, and passion for coding with her students!

Any changes on the start date of classes will be announced in advance. Once you are officially enrolled, a separate email will be sent, including the start of classes, calendar, schedules, and other important reminders. You will be added to the Class Viber Group wherein all important announcements and coordination happen, for easier communication.
